Directions
The main entrance to St. Matthew’s Lutheran church is on Mamaroneck Avenue – directly across the street from the White Plains YMCA at the corner of Carhart Avenue which is clearly identifiable via the signs at the corner traffic light.
From the New England Thruway (I-95): Take Exit 18B - Mamaroneck Avenue. Proceed on Mamaroneck Avenue for approximately 10 minutes to the corner of Mamaroneck and Carhart Avenues.
From the Hutchison River Parkway: Take Exit 23N - Mamroneck Avenue/White Plains. Proceed on Mamaroneck Avenue for approximately 8 minutes to the corner of Carhart Avenue.
From the Tappan Zee Bridge: Take Exit 8W – White Plains/Westchester Mall. Get in lane marked “Bloomingdale Road”. At the light you will turn left onto Bloomingdale Road. Proceed on Bloomingdale Road to the third traffic light. Turn right onto Mamaroneck Avenue and proceed to Carhart (about 6 blocks).
Metro North: At Grand Central Station, board a Harlem line train stopping at “White Plains” (not North White Plains). If you would like to walk, it is approximately 15 minutes:
- You will head left onto Main Street
- Proceed on Main Street past the Galleria Mall and past the fountain area with the Starbucks and bear right onto Mamaroneck Avenue
- Proceed on Mamaroneck Avenue to the corner of Carhart Avenue
There are taxis readily available upon exiting the White Plains station. It is a 5 minute ride to
St. Matthew’s.
PLEASE NOTE: St. Matthew’s has limited on-site parking, but there is ample parking on the street. On-street parking is free on Sundays in the City of White Plains. There are also public parking lots located at the corner of Waller and Maple Avenues (one block from St. Matt’s) and at the Chester-Maple Garage located at the corner of Chester and Maple Avenues (also one block away).
